The class is held three times a year and is a "Friendship Class" for
both people from foreign countries and Japanese people in Shinagawa Ward.
In each class, a cooking teacher gives a lecture on the homemade dishes for
the country where he or she is from. Students in this class learn how to cook
homemade dishes from various countries throughout the world and also learn how
to cook Japanese dishes in one of three classes in a year. Participants from
foreign countries as well as Japanese students enjoy participating in these
classes.
Since we want many people to participate in the cooking class, we hold classes
on Saturdays, and participants can taste the homemade dishes they make in the
morning for lunch in class. At a food tasting in class, participants get
together around a table and have an enjoyable conversation while tasting their
homemade dishes. Participants learn food culture through their homemade dishes
and deepen their friendships. A friendly atmosphere is always in class.
