Recommendation of Students to the University of Southern Maine (USM)
We recommend young people living in Shinagawa Ward who wish to study abroad to go to the University of Southern Maine (A four-year institution) in Portland, Maine. The purpose of recommending them to USM is mainly to give them a chance to study abroad.

We, SIFA signed an agreement with USM to recommend people who wish to study at the university. Applicants must meet certain levels in their academic records in order to receive a recommendation from us. Those who receive our recommendation have the privilege of a part of their dormitory accommodation fee waived in their first year at USM.

The names of those qualified to join the home stay program in Portland, Maine and to attend USM in September 2014 will be posted in Shinagawa Ward PR brochure October 2013 issue and SIFA website in November 2013.
